However, one such saga still exists and it is one that the Foxes stand to benefit from in a big way.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Ben Chilwell for a while now as Frank Lampard seeks reinforcements for a weak link in his side. Marcos Alonso and Emerson are his only true options in the position, and the latter has been linked to a move away for a while now.

Chilwell would be a natural fit for Chelsea, and that been made clear ## ## . Former Blues midfielder Alan Hudson himselfspoke of Lampard admiration of the player.

“He’s a very good player and will be a great addition, a player who loves playing and getting forward, which is what Frank loves.”

The ingredients of this saga are beauty, indeed. Chelsea need a left back, Lampard admires Chilwell and the Foxes value Chilwell at around 80 million.

Now, they won likely get that fee but they don really need to sell, so if Chelsea want Chilwell, they need to flash the cash allowing Leicester extra spending power in bringing in a replacement.

This is where things get interesting, presenting a win win saga for Leicester, who aren the only club involved in a massive merry go round that could be started by a Chilwell move or a pre emptive transfer. Both Inter Milan and Atalanta could quickly involve themselves in a chain started by a Chilwell move, or a transfer that hits closer to home for La Dea.

The Foxes and Chelsea have been linked with a move for Atalanta left back Robin Gosens, who at twenty five years old is quickly hitting his peak. For Leicester, Gosens would be a safety valve. He ensure the Foxes aren ever if they are to lose Chilwell.

For Chelsea, he be a cheaper option than the Leicester left back, and will allow the Foxes to hold onto Chilwell.

A sale would need to be considered at the right time to have maximum impact, though. Too early, or too late, and Leicester may miss out. For the large part though, it win win. Either there is money in the bank, or they hold onto one of their most valued players.

While Chilwell has a certain quality, there is a difference between himself and players like Maddison and Aston Villa Jack Grealish. Both are targeted by Manchester United, and both are uniquely talented players who exist in bubbles of their own creation. While their position can be replaced, the player can not really.
